FRAME WORK
Frame Work is an exhibition design that brings together designers from diverse disciplines, presenting their individual practices as part of a cohesive collective. The installation uses an interactive chroma-key environment to connect otherwise disparate works, framing physical artifacts while enabling the digital layering and collage of an evolving range of images and graphics.
Throughout the exhibition, imagery slips between and across a gridded shelving system designed to display objects, textiles, and other works. Digital overlays generated from the exhibited artifacts extend and amplify each designer's presence, creating new relationships between the pieces while reinforcing their individual identities within the larger exhibition.
The installation adapts conventional wall-framing techniques to the dimensions of each work. Steel studs—the only elements left unpainted—remain exposed, transforming the structural framework into a series of frames that simultaneously support the installation and highlight the individual works on display.
